Protect waterfront property with a 208–240V de-icer

Ice forming around pilings, boats and docks can put your waterfront investment at risk. The Kasco 3400HD moves warmer water from below toward the surface, helping maintain open water around the area you want to protect. Its 3/4HP motor produces 37 lb. of published thrust, with stainless-steel components suited to fresh or salt water.

For a rural property or seasonal waterfront, that gives you a practical way to target vulnerable structures without relying on a water heater. Results depend on water depth, available warmer water, currents, weather and placement. Horsepower alone does not establish a guaranteed ice-free area.

Choose the right power and cord length

This is the 208–240V, single-phase, 60Hz model. Choose the factory cord length needed to reach an appropriate protected power supply; the selected length determines the exact part number and price. This higher-voltage model does not operate from an ordinary 120V household outlet. Have a qualified electrician confirm the circuit and protection requirements before installation.

Placement and included equipment

The package contains the assembled de-icer, the selected factory power cord and two 20-foot mooring lines. Optional dock mounts and control panels are sold separately. Kasco lists a 4-foot minimum operating depth and generally recommends positioning the unit 4–6 feet below the surface while maintaining at least 1 foot of bottom clearance. Assess actual site conditions before selecting an installation.

Open water and thin ice are hazards. Keep people and animals clear and post appropriate warnings. Never enter the water while electrical equipment is connected or operating. Maintain the sacrificial anode and follow Kasco’s installation and maintenance instructions.

Shipping and warranty

Shipping is calculated at checkout for the contiguous United States. Please allow approximately 5–7 business days for order processing and dispatch; transit time depends on the destination. Timing is an estimate, not a guaranteed arrival date.

Kasco provides a 3-year limited warranty against defects in materials or workmanship under normal use. Improper installation, altered or damaged cords, inadequate maintenance and environmental damage can affect coverage.
