Water Distillers & Desalinators

Shop Gravi-Stil water distillers and desalinators for an off-grid water plan that accounts for your source water, heat supply and daily needs. Compare the standard system with the solar-pump configuration, then check the product details for included components and setup requirements.

Distillation and gravity filtration are different operating modes. For brackish or ocean water, assess the distillation setup rather than assuming a gravity filter removes dissolved salt.

Compare systems and plan your water supply

Choose your Gravi-Stil configuration

The standard Gravi-Stil combines a water-distilling setup with a separate gravity-filter mode. The Gravi-Stil with Solar Pump adds powered components for circulation and filtration support. Compare the exact contents of each package before deciding which suits your site.

Budget for heat, cooling and collection

An off-grid distiller still needs energy to boil water and cooling to condense the steam. The solar panel in the pump configuration powers the pump; it is not an electric boiler or a substitute for the heat source. Plan a stable operating surface, suitable heat equipment and the cooling-water arrangement specified in the instructions.

Do not size your emergency supply from a best-case hourly output alone. Allow for setup, warm-up, cleaning, fuel availability and changing cooling conditions. Read our off-grid water distiller guide for energy, output and operation considerations.

Match treatment to the water source

No single treatment method makes every unknown source safe. Distillation can reduce dissolved salts and many contaminants, but some volatile chemicals can carry over with the vapor. Identify the contaminants of concern and review the exact system's tested claims. See CDC guidance on choosing home water treatment.

Keep collection containers clean and separate untreated water from treated water. Follow the manufacturer's cleaning and operating instructions. Use combustion heat equipment only where its instructions allow, with appropriate ventilation and fire precautions.

Complete the water plan

For storage after treatment, compare potable water storage tanks. For freshwater field use where desalination is not the goal, browse portable emergency water filters. Choose by the actual water-quality problem, not the word “purifier” alone.
