Wind power depends on the site's wind resource, turbine location and complete installation—not simply an advertised turbine rating. There are no wind turbines currently offered in this collection.
Buying and planning guide
Assess the site before choosing hardware
Review measured or appropriately assessed wind conditions, obstructions, tower options, seasonal production, access and applicable approvals with a qualified specialist. The Department of Energy's Small Wind Guidebook explains the planning factors. A rooftop or low tower should not be assumed suitable.
Separate preparedness options
If considering another generation method, explore home solar systems or micro hydro turbines. These need their own site assessment and are not direct replacements for a wind turbine.
