Vacuum Sealers for Food Preservation

Shop vacuum sealers for portioning bulk purchases, packing wild game and organizing freezer meals. Compare LEM MaxVac edge sealers, chamber vacuum sealers, compatible bags and the Omcan light-duty commercial option below.

Food safety: Vacuum sealing does not make perishable food shelf-stable. Keep it refrigerated at 40°F or below, or frozen at 0°F. A vacuum jar sealer is not a substitute for heat-processing food with a tested canning method.

How to choose a vacuum sealer

Edge sealers or chamber vacuum sealers?

Edge sealers draw air through the bag opening and suit portioned meat, dry foods and freezer preparation. Our LEM MaxVac vacuum sealer range includes the 250, 500 and 1000. Choose by bag width, controls, storage space and the amount you expect to package in one session.

Chamber vacuum sealers enclose the bag inside the machine. The LEM MaxVac Pro and Pro+ are options to compare when packaging moist foods and chilled liquids. Check the chamber dimensions as well as the seal-bar length: the filled bag must fit inside. Follow the model's instructions for liquid temperature, fill level and vacuum settings.

Match the machine to your workload

The MaxVac 500 accommodates bags up to 14 inches wide; the MaxVac Pro accommodates chamber bags up to 11 inches wide. Those measurements alone do not establish suitability for continuous commercial work.

If you need a commercial vacuum sealer, review the Omcan light-duty model's specifications and operating limits before buying. Check duty cycle, cooling requirements, cleaning procedures and any requirements for your food business. Do not assume every heavy-duty home machine is approved for your intended commercial use.

Choose compatible bags and accessories

Edge sealers generally need textured or embossed vacuum bags. Chamber machines generally use smooth chamber bags, but compatibility and maximum dimensions vary. Confirm the exact bag type with the machine's instructions. Use packaging rated for the intended food-storage or cooking application; not every vacuum bag is suitable for sous vide.
