Security Cameras
Compare CCTV Security Pros IP camera and NVR systems for home, property and business monitoring. The current range includes different camera-count packages. Start with the views you need and the recording workflow, then confirm the exact cameras, recorder and accessories supplied.
Buying and planning guide
Plan coverage before camera count
Identify entrances, approaches and other priority views. Consider mounting height, lens field of view, lighting, glare and obstacles. More cameras do not automatically provide better identification, and advertised night-vision distance is not a promise of recognizable faces at that distance.
Check recorder and storage needs
Review supported channels, recording resolution, storage included and expansion limits. Retention depends on settings such as frame rate, compression and recording schedule. Confirm the storage configuration rather than assuming every kit records for the same number of days.
Allow for cabling and networking
Verify PoE support, required cable runs, networking equipment and any remote-access requirements. A wired IP system is not a battery-powered wireless camera kit. Check which cables, mounts and power components are included, and plan weather-appropriate routing.
Keep monitoring reliable
Use unique credentials, restricted access and the manufacturer's update guidance. Consider backup power for the cameras, recorder and network equipment—not only one component. Browse backup power systems and home security equipment for the wider plan. Check applicable privacy and audio-recording requirements before use.
