Faraday

Compare Faraday Defense bags, enclosures and related EMP equipment alongside EMP Shield devices. Start by choosing the protection method: storing equipment in a shielding enclosure is different from installing an electrical-protection device or using an alert system.

Buying and planning guide

Choose a storage format

Compare small-device bags, laptop formats, backpacks, duffels and larger enclosures by usable interior dimensions and intended contents. Check closure instructions and the manufacturer's model-specific shielding information. Damage, incorrect closure or an unintended cable opening can compromise an enclosure's intended function.

Separate shielding from installed devices

Faraday bags and enclosures are intended to surround stored equipment. EMP Shield products connect to particular electrical systems and are not Faraday enclosures. For automotive devices, visit EMP protection for vehicles. Select by the exact application rather than a general EMP label.

Read the evidence and limitations

Review test documentation for the exact model, including the frequencies, configuration and conditions addressed. A laboratory test or military-standard reference is not a guarantee that every device will survive every event. An alert product monitors or signals conditions; it does not itself provide shielding.

Build a layered preparedness plan

Consider how equipment will be stored, accessed, charged and maintained, along with communications alternatives and essential spares. Follow the manufacturer's operating instructions. Explore preparedness and home security equipment or backup power options for separate supporting needs.
