Multi-point transient protection for a vehicle electrical system

Vehicle electronics can be exposed to fast electrical transients from load changes, lightning-related effects and EMP events. The Faraday Defense EMP Vehicle Protection Kit places protection at multiple points in the vehicle rather than relying on a single component.

Kit includes

• 1 T.R.A.P. Transient Reducing Auxiliary Plug
• 1 T.R.A.P.-B battery transient protector
• 2 high-saturation vehicle ferrites

How it works

The T.R.A.P. plugs into a 12 V auxiliary receptacle and contains a 5,000 W transient voltage suppression device with a turn-on time under 1 picosecond. The T.R.A.P.-B provides the same suppression technology across the battery terminals. The high-saturation ferrites clamp around battery wiring to reduce high-frequency current transients.

The T.R.A.P. is approximately 3 in long; verify adequate clearance at the auxiliary receptacle before ordering.
