Ultraviolet Water Disinfection Systems
UV water disinfection requires suitable water quality, exposure conditions and maintained equipment. There are no UV water-disinfection systems currently offered in this collection. Do not assume that filtration equipment listed elsewhere includes UV treatment.
Buying and planning guide
Specify the complete treatment process
UV treatment does not remove dissolved chemicals or salt. Review pretreatment, flow, water clarity, power requirements, lamp servicing and monitoring for the selected system. See the CDC home water-treatment overview and seek source-specific treatment advice.
Separate preparedness options
Compare portable filtration, water distillation or stored drinking water as separate approaches. They have different limitations and should not be presented as equivalent UV replacements.
