DuroStar DS8000iX Dual Fuel Inverter Generator
Keep core essentials running with an inverter generator
If your priority is refrigeration, lights, communications, and selected household circuits, a smaller generator can be easier to fit into your backup plan. The DS8000iX provides 120/240V inverter power with gasoline or propane operation. Its 6,500W gasoline running rating makes it a fit for a measured essential-load plan rather than unrestricted whole-home use.
Choose your fuel and size your loads
Peak output covers brief starting demand. Running output is the sustained limit, and it changes with the fuel. Add the running watts of simultaneous loads, allow for motor starts, and check the rating of the outlet and cable you will use.
| Fuel | Starting / peak watts | Running watts |
|---|---|---|
| Gasoline | 8,000 W | 6,500 W |
| Propane | 7,600 W | 6,175 W |
The manufacturer rates gasoline operation at 14.5 Hrs. at 50% load. Actual runtime varies with load, fuel, temperature, and operating conditions.
Check the fit before you order
- Have a qualified electrician select the transfer switch or interlock, inlet, and cable for home connections. These are separate installation items; never backfeed a wall outlet.
- Each receptacle has its own current limit. Multiple outlets do not increase the generator’s total running capacity.
- Allow room to move and operate the generator safely. The wheel kit assists positioning; this is still heavy equipment.
