Above Ground Storm Shelters for Sale

Compare above-ground storm shelters for sale from Swisher ESP and Hide-Away. Start with the people who need to enter, the usable space and the proposed installation location, then review the exact model's documentation and foundation requirements before ordering.

A shelter purchase is a site-specific installation project. Delivery, assembly, anchoring and any required permits should be planned together—not treated as details to resolve after it arrives.

Plan your above-ground storm shelter purchase

Compare footprint, capacity and entry access

Our Swisher ESP range includes the SR84X039G, SR84X054G and SR84X084G. Compare their individual dimensions and intended occupancy. Residential and business capacity labels may differ; do not select solely by the largest advertised person count.

Hide-Away options include stationary modular configurations, corner units and under-the-bed layouts. Check the intended use of the exact model rather than assuming every configuration has the same storm, ballistic or accessibility performance.

Measure the approach route, clear door opening, threshold, door swing and interior maneuvering space. If anyone uses a wheelchair or needs assistance, review those needs with the supplier before selecting a model. A large capacity label does not establish accessibility.

Verify the foundation before ordering

Ask a qualified installer or design professional to assess the proposed location and the model's anchoring details. An existing garage slab should not be assumed suitable without review. Confirm the installation documentation, delivery access, unloading arrangements and who is responsible for assembly and anchoring. Review permits and local requirements with the appropriate authority.

Ask for model-specific storm documentation

FEMA does not approve or certify individual shelter products. Request documentation for the exact shelter assembly, including the door and anchoring system, and ask how it addresses applicable ICC 500 requirements and FEMA safe-room guidance. See FEMA's safe-room resources. Do not substitute a ballistic rating or a general brand claim for storm-shelter documentation.

Plan the full project budget

Compare the shelter with the costs of delivery, site preparation, foundation work, installation and any approvals. If seeking a rebate or grant, establish the program's requirements before purchasing; eligibility is not automatic.
