Customer Questions Answered: Where do DuroMax Generators Ship From?

Updated September 22, 2026

According to DuroMax's current shipping information, generators and other orders ship Monday through Friday from its facilities in Tennessee and California. The exact origin for an individual order can depend on inventory, destination, product weight, and carrier routing.

How Long Does DuroMax Shipping Take?

DuroMax states that orders are generally processed and shipped within one to two business days. Its published estimates list about five to seven days for standard ground delivery and about seven to ten days for liftgate freight delivery. These are estimates, not guaranteed arrival dates. Weather, holidays, inventory location, carrier capacity, and remote destinations can add time.

Always use the delivery estimate and tracking information in your Prepper Hideout order confirmation as the controlling information for your purchase. Manufacturer policies and carrier schedules can change.

Parcel Delivery vs. Freight Delivery

The delivery method is usually determined by shipment weight:

  • Under 150 pounds: DuroMax says orders typically ship through UPS or FedEx.
  • Over 150 pounds: Heavy generators generally ship by LTL freight carrier.

Freight delivery is different from a normal package. The carrier may contact you to schedule an appointment. Liftgate service usually lowers the boxed generator from the truck to ground level; it generally does not include moving the unit into a garage, home, or storage building. Make sure the carrier has a working phone number and that the delivery area is accessible.

What Does Shipping Cost?

DuroMax currently advertises free shipping on qualifying orders over $199 within the contiguous 48 United States. Alaska, Hawaii, international addresses, and certain other destinations may have additional charges or restrictions. Your checkout and order confirmation will show the terms that apply to your purchase.

Inspect a Generator Before Accepting Delivery

Portable generators are heavy, so inspect the shipment promptly:

  1. Look for punctures, crushed corners, torn wrap, or visible frame damage.
  2. Photograph the unopened package and any damage.
  3. Note visible damage on the delivery receipt before signing when a freight carrier is present.
  4. Keep the packaging until the unit has been inspected.
  5. Contact the seller promptly if parts are missing or damage is found.

Do not add fuel or attempt repairs before documenting a damaged shipment and receiving instructions.

Shipping Origin Is Not Manufacturing Origin

“Where does it ship from?” and “Where was it made?” are different questions. A California or Tennessee shipping point describes the distribution facility that fulfilled the order. It does not, by itself, identify where every component was manufactured or where final assembly occurred. Check the product label, manual, packaging, and current manufacturer disclosures for model-specific origin information.

Before You Order

  • Confirm the generator's dimensions and shipping weight.
  • Verify that your address can receive parcel or freight service.
  • Provide a phone number monitored during business hours.
  • Plan how you will move the generator after curbside delivery.
  • Review fuel, oil, battery, and first-start requirements before it arrives.
